Found this via whatever&ever and I just love the color and typography.

While browsing I came across Power and it immediately grabbed my attention. It’s the new book by famed photography Platon, who’s best known for his portraits of presidents and world figures. Needless to say the photography is amazing, but equally so is the book itself. I especially love the cover typography, straight and to the point in a documentation/archeologist style.

I’m not a comic book reader or anything but Strange Suspense: The Steve Ditko Archives Vol. 1 published by Fantagraphics Books caught my attention. I love the typography and the cover features iridescent metallic stamping.

I’m really loving this poster for it’s hand-drawn typography craziness. Kudos to Visual Armory for creating it and French Paper Sample Room for posting it.

Graphic Designer Ron Wan redesigned this classic children’s novel. It’s a nice surprise to see this contemporary approach to designing for children, not everything for kids needs to be bright colors and bubbly typography right? Yes, I agree.

I really appreciate the  these elegant package design for Grown Botanical Alchemy, a line of  organic skincare products. This typographical based work seems busy at first glance, but the layout and use of scale reflects the organic nature of the product itself.

Intercut wood typeface project by Nick Sherman

Nick Sherman has a ferocious appetite for typography, and while his Intercut wood typeface project is a few years old, the subject makes it timeless. This project is an ode to the 19th century wood type process and if you look around today, you can easily see a revival of this aesthetic and process.

Some might even argue that it never left. Check out the Intercut wood typeface project and other interesting works by Nick Sherman.

Great art direction and design by Swedish design studio, Dalston.

I appreciate the bold use of 19th century wood typography and sepia toned color paper, embellished with a paint splatter.

A Behanding In Spokane is a fine example of Broadway branding.

Designed by Spot Design Co is, the title graphic has a very tactile feel and it almost jumps off the page. It’s flanked by bold distressed typography which compliments the overall look and feel. This type of execution reminds me of the era of Raygun magazine.

Brooklyn based Village, a type foundry has just launched their new website, along with the redesign they are offering some wares.

Check out their ABC Tote it’s A 19″ × 16″ × 4″ jumbo tote bag screen printed in Metallic Silver and Fluorescent Orange inks on a heavyweight recycled cotton bag with 25″ shoulder-length handles.

This clock by Nixie is a display of purist elegance. With its rare tubes fitted in cherry wood and a shiny black anodized aluminum, it’s just damn cool. Nixie claims that it keeps precise time as well.

Denham is a Netherlands based jean maker with a nostalgic brand. Superior craftsmanship is the common thread throughout their entire product line.

They recently redesigned their website to be more content rich and dynamic. It’s filled with great content and photography of the products, stores and design studio. The example above is a hand-cut typographic relief of the reception area of the studio.
